We are compiling a list of scientific societies with public statements denouncing bioessentialist claims that sex and gender are strict binaries

If your organization has publicly shown support for transgender, nonbinary, and intersex people, please let us know!

Below is a thread of statements:

Where I grew up in New England there was an indigenous archaeological site right next to the middle school yet we were never taught about it.

Autism is not a disease. I don't need to be cured. I will always stand up against the pseudoscience bullshit that keeps perpetuating stigma against people like me. After all the crap I went through with Vaccine conspiracy theorists they keep just coming up with more baseless nonsense.

The main research question I have been mulling over for nearly 2 years now is whether the spread of maize cultivation in the Northeastern Woodlands had any religious dimensions tied to it and if so how that might relate to wider trends in the Eastern Woodlands.

I remember in college how hyper-reductive I thought human behavioral ecology was. My opinion hasn't changed at all. Some archaeologists seem so obsessed with it, like it's the end-all all be-all of anthropological/archaeological theory.

Recent actions by Yale New Haven Hospital to limit gender affirming care to those 19 years and older has made me very angry. Gender affirming care is life-saving and shouldn't be restricted!

The adoption of maize cultivation (and agriculture in general) goes beyond just subsistence. It possesses a myriad of ideological dimensions that feed back into how people organize the material world.

I have been doing a lot of research on the chronology of maize cultivation in southern New England. From what I have gathered from the currently published literature is that maize has been in this region for much longer than previously thought, like going back to 300 BCE.

To understand the appeal of the far-right today we need to examine the origins of the fascist myth of primordial male kinship.

Seeds of another world
The nexus of radical inequality, social atomization and male victimhood has been exploited before. But why now, on such a scale? To understand the appeal of the far-right today we need to examine the...

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

Maize phytoliths found in cooking residue dating to around 300-290 BCE in southern New England blows my mind. That extends the chronology of maize in this region substantially. It's very exciting.

Seriously this is not gender equality … this is wealthy women doing what all wealthy people do, spending obscene amounts of money on nothing that advances women, humanity or helps anyone at all.
A crew of six women, including pop star Katy Perry and Jeff Bezos's fiancé Lauren Sanchez, is set to blast off today on an 11-minute Blue Origin flight.

It marks the first all-female space mission in 60 years — hailed as a breakthrough for gender equality in space tourism.

Any researcher who still thinks we all lived in egalitarian societies until the invention of agriculture started a species-wide “fall from grace” into inequality should really be in the theology department, as this idea simply has nothing to do with science or evidence ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life”.

This is a manifesto against disability.

This is the language of eugenics.
