Listening to the posthumous orgasm segment of the Johnny Appleseed ep of @thedollop.bsky.social just now as I showered and the gf charged in demanding to know Gareth’s whereabouts so she could cave his skull in.

Exchanged emails with a *very* en vogue comic/podcaster this week; very critical of the Riyadh fest, performing in Bangkok in Feb. Offered to pitch a feature ahead of his show, particularly to connect him with audiences who face repression in ASEAN.

“We won’t have time for this,” his PR rep said.

If you’re still reeling from the recent gutting of @teenvogue.com, I might recommend either or both of these novels I finished this month. Stories of women-led anti-colonial revolt, but even more noteworthy — stories that tackle the messiness of resistance in pretty unvarnished ways.

Kinda shocked, amidst the tidal wave of memes, that I’ve seen not one connecting Trump to West Ham with a punch line that involves “I’m Forever Blowing Bubba”.

Has anyone considered telling Musk, Thiel, and Sideshow Bob over at Palantir that we only have be lucky once?

Today is the last day of the “jae” (vegetarian) festival in Thailand. Less interesting for its food than it is as a window into the history of migration and Thai ethnonationalism’s failure to erase local cultural diversity.

I’ve pitched a photo-feature on it for 3yrs now, high and low. No takers.

Absolute dorks: “Veganism is a white people thing!”

Bangkok: “Get in, losers. We’re getting weird and eating vegan for ten days.”

Y’all, Spotify’s stock price sunk by 5% in 1 day. YOU did this by spreading the word to boycott them for running ICE ads.

These billionaires only speak one language—money—so let’s keep up the pressure. Tell everyone you know to cancel their Spotify subscriptions. Send them to BoycottSpotify.com.

Someone should tell him how this worked out for Duterte.
Trump: "I don't think we're necessarily going to ask for a declaration of war, I think we're just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. We're going to kill them. They're going to be, like dead."

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

#OtD 15 Oct 1966 in Oakland, CA, the Black Panther Party for Self Defence was set up. The Party would exist, despite heavy repression, until 1982 and did things like feed breakfast to children and run community health clinics. Learn more: shop.workingclasshistory.com/collections/...

Did I know that @ajbauer.bsky.social and I share a birthday?

I did not.

Here we were, in the same working group during Occupy, on this very day in 2011, ships passing in the night. My bad, bud.

Setting aside the red line of performing in Saudi Arabia, this defense is so bereft of any sophistication about life beyond the US. Yes, people everywhere are just like us. Welcome to the world. That’s precisely why they do not deserve to be enslaved, disappeared, caned, dismembered.

Idiot.

I’m gonna keep saying it:

Dems, run on vengeance and I’ll vote for you. First time in almost 2 decades. Seriously. Promise ruthless pursuit of every fascist fuckstain, lay out a plan for chasing them to the corners of the earth.

I’ll even do the Truffle Shuffle.

Jon Stewart’s emergency slot-in at the Daily Show was a cringe-inducing swing and a miss. A moment to set an example of defiance, rendered both uninspiring and unwatchable. Like nails on a blackboard.

Enough. Either call for talent strikes or NY and CA’s soft-secession, or gtfo.

My timeline on here now looks a lot like my LinkedIn feed — just with newsletter launch announcements, instead of “I’m thrilled…”

What surplus do you all think is going to be allocated to subscriptions in a nightmarish job market, atop a bubble that’s going to dwarf the dot com crash?
