I get that online voting would freak out election deniers — but if Americans abroad can do it securely, and we can file taxes or renew passports online, there’s no reason we can’t modernize voting too.

Yeah, I’m honestly still surprised we’re relying on signatures for identity verification in 2025. 😅
Most of us barely use cursive anymore, and signatures are pretty easy to fake these days.

I also think we did ourselves a disservice by telling people it was not safe to vote by mail this year.
I voted by mail early, and my vote was tabulated in about 2 days.
It was a bit of misinformation.

All votes MUST be counted.
It’s just the inefficiency that gets me.
Having votes that were collected on Election Day not tabulated yet just feels inadequate, especially when we can compare ourselves to other counties in the state, which have a similar system.

Also a different auditor for the county. Which has different priorities in terms of efficiency and voting.

From what I remember as a former Pierce resident, they rely less heavily on the ballot drop boxes, which while well intended slow down collection.
The county also has nowhere near as good infrastructure as the U.S. Postal Service to collect the ballots.

Pierce (smaller but still) is done supposedly.
Not sure about other mail in states.

Is this system really an improvement over in-person voting or just a different kind of bottleneck? 🗳️

Tried Tacos Cometa tonight: incredible food, affordable prices, and proof that street-level entrepreneurship brings real flavor to the city. 🌮
Our streets should make it easier for people with vision (and a grill) to thrive.
