A possible explanation for Seattle’s slower ballot returns this year.

CHS Blog reports an unprecedented number of ballots were returned via drop boxes instead of mail — which helps explain why results are taking longer to process:

Tried Tacos Cometa tonight: incredible food, affordable prices, and proof that street-level entrepreneurship brings real flavor to the city. 🌮

Our streets should make it easier for people with vision (and a grill) to thrive.

Voted! 🗳️📫

Whether you’re mailing your ballot or using a dropbox — make sure to get those ballots in, Washingtonians.

Big leadership decisions on the ballot this year for Seattle.

Thirty Great. ✨
Kicked off 38 surrounded by friends at my neighborhood spot.

37 was hard — full of lessons in life, love, and laughter. Took the advice of other Black men: cultivate joy in the face of adversity.

Still learning, still growing, still choosing me. ❤️

Took my new Brooks gear for a spin this week — first time wearing it since visiting their company store.

Love that this Seattle brand keeps showing up for the local running community and continues to support Seattle Frontrunners as a sponsor.

Feels good to rep local. 🏃‍♂️💙

Rode the new E Marginal Way S bike lane today. Smooth, protected, and part of the growing dream of riding all the way around Elliott Bay on safe bike infrastructure from Alki to Magnolia.

Thx @bestsidecycling.com,
@qagggy.bsky.social, @gordonofseattle.bsky.social & Don for a fun afternoon ride.

Signed out of September in the Olympic National Forest.

Hello October, the best month of the year. 🍁

People say “Seattle has no culture.”

As a Seattle area local, I wonder: where have you been? Festivals, art, concerts, quirky pop-ups—it’s here if you look.

This weekend’s Art Marathon turned Downtown into a gallery.

Culture isn’t always somewhere far away—sometimes it’s in your backyard. 🌲🎨

10+ years of advocacy paid off! 🚲🎉

Beacon Hill now has new protected bike lanes linking downtown to the South End — a huge win for safer streets, community persistence, and better connections.

Big thanks to SDOT + all the neighbors who made this happen.

Missed this late August update: Seattle now has its own Indian Consulate, right in the heart of downtown.

🌲🤝🇮🇳

A big step for connections between Seattle and India.

I finally checked out Funko HQ in Everett on Sat! 🦖

Got “snatched” by Godzilla, explored all the wild pop culture mashups, & left with a Dratini & Green Ranger.

North Sound isn’t my usual stomping ground, but I love finding gems like this on road trips. Perfect stop before heading out to camp.

Always appreciate Lindblom’s transportation coverage — clear, direct, & not afraid to call out politicians who talk big but offer little detail.

Right now, both Harrell & Wilson are still light on specifics when it comes to keeping West Seattle and Ballard Link extns on schedule.

It’s healthy to step outside your bubble to learn, to let go of ideas that no longer serve you, and to really listen to others.

One of the biggest challenges today is how many of us live in separate realities, sometimes in direct opposition, with no shared facts.

Ended my summer hiking season by bussing out to Mt. Si with King County Metro’s Trailhead Direct 🚍🏔️

$3 each way gets you from Seattle to the mountains.

Fog, peaks, and moody PNW vibes made it perfect.

More transit to trails, please. Everyone deserves access to King County’s Big Backyard.

Love the vibe at the U-District Farmers Market—open, airy, and packed with amazing vendors offering top-notch produce and meats.

Watching this street transform into a lively public market is such a treat.

The hardest part of launching an idea? Not letting perfect kill good enough.

Research → Ideate → Test → Tweak → Release.

Don’t get trapped in endless brainstorming—momentum beats perfection every time.

Kicking off the week working from Baring, WA 🌲

Wild that King County holds: the Emerald City, forests, rivers, glacial lakes, and Cascade peaks.

Washington… you’re beautiful. 💚

The follow-up email about the canceled Sunset Supper at Pike Place is a plot twist.

Went from: “lol, your money is ours 🤷‍♂️”

to: “actually here’s a refund, please still love us 🥺”

Somebody definitely got the phone call.

Pretty sure this Lime scooter placement isn’t exactly in the user agreement. 😅

But hey — street space isn’t just for cars. It’s for people, bikes, scooters, wheelchairs… all of us. 🚶‍♀️🚲🛴

Do 30-minute load/unload zones apply to non-cars? Asking for… me.

Puppy kisses: the ultimate Monday reset button. 🐶💖

If you don’t have a dog, borrow your neighbor’s for a few hours — payment in belly rubs and treats optional.

Pleasantly surprised by Quincy Square in Bremerton — a chill, pedestrian-only street that proves you don’t need to be a big city to dream big.

Every town deserves vibrant, people-first spaces to gather, shop, and celebrate local life.

Favorite desert saying from this trip:

“Have fun! Don’t die out there. And please drink lots of water.” 😳🥵😅

Desert hospitality.

Learned on this trip: You cannot buy hard alcohol via self-checkout in California.

Golden State… what is up with that?

Feels a little backward for the epicenter of American tech. 🚫🥃🤖
