Favourite pub in Oldham. Always happy to see them thriving.

John Prescott was a true friend of local government and inspired so many.

We thank him for all he did.

Goodbye and rest in peace. 🌹🌹🌹

John Prescott’s coffin has arrived at Hull Minster for his funeral. Appropriately, the hearse was a Jag, as is the family’s car.

A knowing wink you suspect. Two Jags to the end.

It’s not an “Elon Musk salute” it’s a bloody Nazi salute and they’ve gone fully mask off now haven’t they
Father Calvin Robinson finished his remarks at the National Pro-Life Summit by throwing an Elon Musk salute, much to the delight of the crowd.

Using rail lines and other existing infrastructure to unlock brownfield housing sites and develop more vital infrastructure (like doctors, shops etc) is a brilliant idea and we need to do more and more
Thank you to @darrenpjones.bsky.social for confirming that the government will be looking to unlock housing and other key developments along existing infrastructure, such as railway lines, to help kickstart growth across the country and Get Britain Building #PlanForChange #Growth

This is a really difficult article to read from @charlotteliviahall.bsky.social, mainly because I know so many people in the same boat, and no matter what we try to do locally, things don't necessarily feel better.

Sexual exploitation affects all communities & doesn’t discriminate by gender. From my 14 years as a Crown Prosecutor, I’ve seen this firsthand. I asked the Home Secretary to ensure any review also examines the abuse of boys & young men. Every victim deserves justice.

Delighted to see HAF is continuing. It’s a lifeline for so many families in my own ward, and I’ve seen firsthand the difference it makes to kids, who otherwise would be stuck at home or out on the streets potentially being led astray.

The electoral commission needs to be given proper powers to investigate lies and malicious acts from candidates. The police often aren’t equipped to deal with this, leading to civil action being the only recourse… if you can afford it

Never known anything like the last two elections in the West Midlands for fakery and aggression. I hope this woman got a pretty penny for what she went through to start a new chapter with her baby. Her personal story will be taken and learned from in how we protect individuals and our democracy.

We need to do more to understand why this particular pattern of abuse is more prevalent among some groups of men. That’s not racism – it’s common sense.

It's not religion or race that defines these crimes, it’s the crimes that define these men.

We welcome this announcement and indeed any action that the government takes to establish genuinely survivor-led inquiries into historical sexual abuse.

Survivors must be at the heart of any inquiry into these horrendous failings.
