A wonderful show of respect across Oldham, Chadderton and Royton.

It was an honour to join with our armed forces, RBL, uniformed groups and the wider community for Chadderton’s service this year.

The rich and powerful have always controlled the media.

Social media was meant to be the rebalancer, but that’s impossible when it’s owned and controlled by the same vested interests. (1/2)

To commemorate those who died for our country, I laid a stake yesterday in the House of Commons’ remembrance garden for Oldham West, Chadderton & Royton.

It is important we take some time during this period to reflect and remember all those who have given so much for us & for future generations.

Great to see the team out on the doorstep in Chadderton & Limeside, thanks to those who came out with us at the weekend 🌹

Lots of important casework picked up and we’ll get these followed up 👍

No child should have ever been criminalised when *they were victims* of exploitation.

After years of inaction by the previous government, this is welcomed news.
Hundreds of grooming gangs victims who were unjustly criminalised will finally have their convictions quashed.

Reform wants to erode public sector pensions in a race to the bottom.

Be clear, these are the pensions of some of the lowest paid frontline workers in the country. Not gold plated, just fair reward for a life of hard work.
EXCL: Reform UK is eyeing up sweeping changes to public sector pensions, Richard Tice has indicated. Nigel Farage’s deputy told me “how long can we carry on offering defined benefit pensions to all public sector workers?” is a massive Q “not properly discussed in Westminster”

I don’t mind Tories saying the current laws, rules or guidance on any issue isn’t good enough, providing they at least acknowledge they introduced them and now need the Labour government to make them better.

The country hasn’t wiped out 14 years from its collective memory.
Anna Foster to Chris Philp: "People will think that it sounds opportunistic that you described those laws as extremely fit for purpose when you were in government and you’re now saying that they’re not because you’re in opposition.”
