Just discovered a song I’ve loved since I was seven has finally been added to Spotify. We are so back.

I stubbed my toe today, a direct impact of Rachel Reeves’ Budget

Happy to be educated more on this, but it does seem that the Government has made the right decision regarding WASPI women compensation…

Christmas wrapping while watching the darts, never felt so festive 🎯🎅

Went to get an eye test today. When they asked why I had booked one I had to think of a reason that wasn’t “a Westminster Hall debate led by Jim Shannon scared me into booking one”.

Laugh at Badenoch all you like, but if Ed Miliband had been scared of sandwiches he would probably be Prime Minister right now

“54% of Britons who voted leave, including 59% of voters in “red wall seats”, said in exchange for single market access they would now accept full free movement for EU and UK citizens to travel, live and work across borders.”
Majority of Brexit voters ‘would accept free movement’ to access single market
Europe-wide polling finds UK and EU leaders now out of step with public opinion and pursue ‘ambitious reset’

Interesting event tonight from @londonnewliberals.bsky.social with @miketapp.bsky.social

Always good to hear from an MP as to what life is like in Westminster and what needs to be done for people to actually feel the benefits of Government policy

Euston screen is back!

Nice to know that my train home is cancelled via big screen.

Stumbled upon this gem of a video from 1994

David Shaw, the first MP to communicate with constituents online, debates the potential impact of the internet on politics: youtu.be/ocY-HjZBPr4?...

Farage accepting a £79 million donation from Musk, following his outrage at Labour staffers campaigning in the US election, would be insane hypocrisy

Unfortunately he doesn’t care

The Rwanda scheme cost £715 million and was nothing but a gimmick

Keep this in mind whenever the Conservative Party accuse the Government of being irresponsible with public finances
In July, I FOI'd the Home Office for the full breakdown of spending on the Rwanda scheme

I was refused because the government planned to publish the data in future, and today is the day. These numbers are in millions

Nigel Farage, Kemi Badenoch, Jeremy Corbyn, and Wes Streeting hanging out in the no lobby for the assisted dying bill

I watched the first couple hours of the assisted dying debate before having a couple meetings

For the most part, it was a respectful and detailed debate on a very important matter. UK democracy at its finest

I understand the resignation but I do feel very bad for Haigh.

The incident was over a decade ago, the PM knew about it, and it’s clear that she didn’t really do anything wrong

Perhaps tonight is a good time to remember that about 19% of NHS staff in England are non-British nationals. They are some of the most hardworking & caring members of our society. They look after our sick & vulnerable & during the pandemic risked their lives to keep us safe

Badenoch suggesting another immigration cap. One of the most pointless policies that will never die because Conservative politicians consistently try to win over right wing populists

Toddler gaining consciousness for the first time:

Can we tone down the whole “Labour Government SPLIT by disagreements over assisted dying” headlines

This is one rare example of legislation being properly debated and scrutinised beyond party lines and it’s a shame we don’t see more of it in our political system

Starmer should hold another election because of broken promises?

We were promised that Brexit would lead to prosperity, instead we took a 4% hit to our GDP. When’s Farage going to call for a second referendum?
