I think the almost zealous commitment to 'Lore' and 'The Canon' that has risen over the past decade is the most frustrating and restrictive cultural movement we've seen, on par with how streaming means no one commissions tv beyond one series at a time anymore.

On one hand, it's a brilliantly "dispruptive" move that may work out for THEM, but it sure ain't gonna be a win for US in the long term. It's going to be an ad-riddled, slop-pumping, enshittified mess, mark my words. We need a Blender-level open-source tool for this stuff. GIMP and Krita ain't it.

Unfortunately no, I’m buried doing some programming work. I think I’m at the point where if I came back to comics it would be weird little indie things I’d do myself. I could be persuaded to color some covers but that’s probably all I’d be reliable enough for anymore. Hope you’re well, man!
