“Between 75% and 90% of home based care at the end of life is provided by unpaid carers, often family members.”
And when that’s 24 hours around the clock, that’s really hard, especially when it’s just one or two people trying to do it.

The burnout epidemic CANNOT be resolved with self care. It is job related. Hospital executives must improve working conditions : reduce template size, number of clicks in EHR, increase time with patients, appoint leaders who like and value clinical care.
