What a plum. Should have checked my bookshelf in the first place... 1908, 1919 and 1929.
Two OS maps of Swindon and Cirencester and one of Marlborough, all folded. Three maps open on the floor. There is, inevitably, a cat. A close up of our area of interest on the three maps. Annoyingly, it straddles the boundary of the two map areas.

The boundary's visible on the 1940 OS map (as well it should be, the municipal borough forming in 1900).
Maybe Bassett Down House really didn't want to be in Swindon?
