Wait, wasn't Arsenal ready to win it last year? Settled team, world class players, best defence in the league, no?

What about the year before, when they signed Declan Rice, that was the gamechanger, right?

Why Arsenal are ready to win Premier League as stakes rise for Mike Arteta
The additions of midfielder Martin Zubimendi and striker Viktor Gyokeres show Arsenal's ambition in what will be Mikel Arteta's most important season as manager.

Spurs predictions for 25/26:

1. Frank's primary adjective will be to make Spurs a hard team to beat. This is going to be a massive adjustment to watch as it will mean cagey football a lot of weeks.

Rest in piece, Diogo Jota. Few people get to accomplish as much as he did in 28 years. It's cruel that he, his family and friends couldn't journey on together.

It's hard to feel anything but sadness, but hopefully the football community can celebrate his life together too.

This is a really good thread, a well explained argument. Taps into the reason why Spurs fans have pride in Ange and his era and why keeping him was a conceivable option.

But I'm going to offer some counter-arguments because I'm not entirely convinced.
After a few days of reflection, I'll start by staying, fair play to the board / Levy for sticking with Ange during the season. I assume they felt his position was untenable, yet they didn't fire him and in return he won the Europa League.

Yet, I am still irked by the board's decision, because;

I can completely understand Frank's appointment from the club's perspective. The strength of the league demands an approach that can get us into the top 8, and it's absolutely for the long term future of our club to remain in Europe and competitive. If anything, it's a proactive decision.

If there's gonna be a statue at White Hart Lane, I want it to be of these two together.

No two players have brought more pride to our football club in my generation.

I don't enjoy Tottenham at all. I don't have anger in me, because I see that we've done a lot of the right things, and nothing seems to be going our way. It's just that futility of realising sometime the tide is just against your club at present.

This makes me feel very sad. Putting aside his obvious bravery, as the years pass we further lose more and more people that connect us to events we’ve only ever read about. It simply reminds me of the relentless passing of time.

RIP John Hemingway.

Hello #COYS Bluesky!

I'm fundraising for Cruse Bereavement Support in remembrance of my late dad Martin, a life-long Spurs fan who tragically passed away last year aged 65.

If you could donate or share this page across the site, I would be very grateful 🤍💙 justgiving.com/page/running-for-murph

Sad to hear of Gene Hackman's passing with his wife and dog. I hope he was at peace knowing he lived a proud, diverse and unique life.

I'll remember him as Royal Tenenbaum - the estranged, bastard of a father wanting to use his final years making things right with his family.

Honestly not a bad performance but it serves us right for not being sharp from minute one defensively. We need to learn this quickly because it's hardly the first time this season we let our guard down early.

Big question as ever with playing City is how we can execute our attacking transitions. Can we work it through the first line of press to feet? Can we have options to bypass the press if the wide spaces are free? There are goals to be had against City, always.

Nice win for Spurs. Isn't it nice to have a squad of players again?

Shame about the Arsenal. #coys

Somebody please tell me how that isn't a penalty to Everton. Ref gives it, given proof that there was a shirt pull, but for some reason decided that was the reason to overturn. Why?
February 22, 2025 at 2:36 PM
Spurs didn't have an answer to Liverpool's pressing yesterday.

It seemed like when the second goal went in we didn't have much belief we were in the tie still.

Liverpool have a very complete squad, and played like a remarkable football team. A complete performance in every aspect.

It was never ever to plan to chuck this lad in and make him play every match for the past three months. You hope the experience will better these players, but sometimes it can take its toll.

Either way, support the lad when he comes back to the Lane 💙
Very tough on Dragusin. Whatever we might think about him as a player, that's a nasty injury and he needs support.
