Not to begrudge any of the other kids but my Autistic kids and I are feeling very incensed for the kids who are getting nothing just a 'good luck & thanks'. Every year there's injustice #LateLateToyShow #Spéirghorm

Still buzzing from this event and actually looking forward to helping compile the report in the New Year - such valuable, honest & frankly maddening insights & stories shared (but also laughter & camaraderie).

Happy to get the opportunity to present to the Disability Matters Committee on behalf of @dw-ireland.bsky.social alongside my colleague @amyhassett.bsky.social & others about barriers to work for Disabled people

Last week we talked to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Disability Matters about the barriers which make it difficult for disabled women to access work.

A Miggedly anecdote from my sibling's wedding celebration, they'd worked on his 2nd campaign so we included a little Micheal D as part of the cake (along with other key figures). Alice-Mary Higgins was at the party & took photos, so hopefully he got to see it.

Happy to present on behalf of @dw-ireland.bsky.social to the Disability Matters Committee - access to work and the exclusion and ableism faced were identified at our previous event as huge contributing factors to the high rates of poverty we experience.

We presented to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Disability earlier this week about access to work for disabled women.

We talked about the factors that make it difficult for disabled women to access and retain work. You can read more about it here: www.disabledwomenireland.org/news-1

Every minute without a strong statement from the Irish government about the arson and attempted murder in Drogheda is another minute of silent acquiescence to the far right - by remaining silent, the govt is making it very clear which side they are on.

Don’t flake on voting just because the result is in the bag! Margin matters. Remember how awful it felt seeing Peter Casey jump from 2% polls to 23% after his attacks on travellers. A low turnout/high number of spoiled votes will be seized on by the fash. Every vote for Connolly undermines them
