Finally, I toast some seeds and add them on top, together with any other seasonings (I'm a sucker for the Maggi Hot Liquid Seasoning and a little sesame oil). The photo shows the seeds on top, but it tastes much better when you've mixed them in! Obviously peanuts are more authentic. 6/6 🧵Ends

For this recipe I've also added bean sprouts. I chop the mint with a green chili, crush some garlic and add it to the bean sprouts and courgette with sugar, salt and a couple of glugs of white wine vinegar. Then it goes in the fridge (or not if I'm too hungry). For a main course I add noodles. 5/6

I grate the courgette and then squeeze out the water (with clean hands, obviously). The ones I've grown are quite dry at the moment because of the heat 🥵🔥4/6

I grow a lot of mint on my plot too! It needs no encouragement, but is quite invasive if not checked. 3/6

🌱🍽️In the UK, it's courgette (zucchini) season. You can't plant them out much befor May because of frost, and if you leave it much later powdery mildew will get them. This year it's been hot early, so there's plenty! If you have a recipe please tag me in. 🧵1 of 6

I think that every time one of these MAGA/CPAC types does a Nazi salute, they should have to put their finger under their nose and do enormous goose steps when they get off the stage. If you're going to look like a pr*ck, at least get the details right.

Just read the BBC news story about Ozzy and the the #BlackSabbath reunion gig in Aston this summer ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard... Photo of "Black Sabbath's original line-up performing together in 1984" clearly shows Ian Gillan, who took over from Ronnie James Dio. Oh Dear.🤘 #Metal #DadRock

There's another perspective. I'm not sure that the corporates of fascist Italy did so well in the end. The so-called 'economic miracle' of post-war growth was arguably a product of industry being literally leveled during the war, followed by reinvestment & redevelopment through the Marshall Plan.

Of course you are.

Rhubarb from our allotment, made into crumble. 🍽️In the UK, rhubarb is the earliest fruit in spring. The 'cream' is from a well-known manufacturer of oat milk, which now makes the equivalent of single and double cream. They claim the double can be whipped. This experiment proves it!

Simple flatbread to accompany mid-morning coffee. Currants, strong white bread flour, pinch of salt and water. Pressed flat with fingertips and cooked on hot heavy small skillet. Sometimes I add sweet cinnamon or coarse ground black pepper, but today I kept it simple. The char adds a lot of flavour🍽️

In England spring is finally here and so the brassicas are bolting. So it's kale, broccoli and cabbage for every meal 🍽️. This is a kale and blue cheese stuffed chapati. The kale is blanched and pressed then mixed with Stilton, fish sauce, an egg and spices. Cooked in heavy skillet.
