@stephenkb.bsky.social Thanks so much for recommending The Americans. I’ve just finished it. What a great series it was. So good about life as a parent in the country you are trying to bring down.

@lmtpod.city Did City swap Ederson for Donnarumma because teams had stopped being lured in by E but will definitely try to press D? 😏

One of the great derby goals. A complete pisstake in the corner with Marsh and Summerbee. Book makes the break and Bell makes it tell.

It is completely glorious how shit this looks. Just magnificent work. Slightly different lettering. A bit wonky. Didn’t even remove “THE” at the beginning of the second line. Chef’s kiss.

And what, pray tell, have Labour strategists done? Why, they have made the debate around immigration salient, through draconian new restrictions and breaking promises made to existing immigrants. An issue that splits the left bloc and where Reform, not Labour, ‘own’ the issue. Genius. 9/n

No one who has ever used the term "cultural erasure" has ever meant anything more complicated or less racist than "get rid of the brown people".

A simple approach would be to tell Mr Cole that he can choose to interview the most overt racists in our country (a man who'd chuck 90 MPs out of our parliament out on racist grounds & ban them from being civil servants) or to ask to interview government ministers - but that he can't do both.

Labour Cabinet Ministers should cease to appear on Harry Cole's slot while he and Talk TV clearly plan to invite back an overt racist who advocates banning Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood and Leader of the Opposition Kemi Badenoch from parliament & all ethnic/faith minorities from public service

Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

This is true in Britain also. Many such cases! Twitter weirdos are just that - weirdos! Stop treating them as the voice of a generation!
Those claiming Dems should retreat on racial justice aren't hard-headed realists, they're pushing against the electoral tide rather than leaning into it. The story of Gen Z isn't about racist backlash or red-pilled young men. It's the most racially progressive generation in American history. 🧵

To get the policy and politics right means being the party of control, compassion and international cooperation - for voters looking for the viable alternative to Farage, not an implausible imitation and echo.

Most British young men reject the far right - UK in a changing Europe
Emilia Belknap and Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte explain their analysis on the demographics of Reform UK voters in the UK. They argue that while the dominant narrative is that young men are the most likely to turn to the party, the evidence does not support this.

Though the report contains the facts, this headline and standfirst misreport what happened. The junior whip Katie Lam correctly stated the policy: revoking ILR retrospectively was Tory policy from May 5th to yesterday. The leader has ditched that policy.
