Canada's true crisis is the everyday emergency of just trying to get by in an impossible economy.

I’m running for NDP leader so we can transform a system rigged for the rich—together.

We need a government that serves the many, not the money.

Here's a fun (terrifying) one. A journalist was trying to find a specific article he'd written and couldn't find it on Google. At all. Someone had tricked Google into de-listing it entirely.

Exporting LNG may seem like an economic opportunity for Canada, but when other countries have tried it, they’ve seen consumer bills skyrocket at home. More from @australiainstitute.org.au 👇
Opinion: Canada, don’t make the same mistake with LNG that Australia did
LNG exports exposed Australians to high global gas prices, allowed gas producers to price gouge and drained the country of low-cost gas reserves

“In Carney we now have the world leader who knows more than any of his peers about climate change. And who knows roughly 20x as much about climate and energy economics as anyone else in power. He may turn out to be a truly crucial figure in the fight to turn the climate tide.” @nationalobserver.com
It's time to shift from relief to gratitude as Carney helps steer the climate transition
Danielle Smith's agitations and the insatiable fossil fuel industry's demands will make climate action difficult, but Canada's new prime minister brings the right qualifications — and will have plenty...

This will undermine climate foresight work here and abroad, cost the nation as a whole, and make your family less safe.

At this juncture I’d like to point out:
* we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing
* there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world
* a united approach could stop the climate crisis
But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

This is so heartbreaking and makes nothing better and no one safer. It is the punitive act of an administration that values fealty over human health.

As soon as I got an e-bike in 2019, I began commuting on it 5 days a week instead of 1 day/week on my regular bike.

This also doesn’t even account for hilly cities like Seattle and SF where e-bikes suddenly open the doors to many more routes around town.
The “E-Bike Effect:” Those who bought e-bikes increased their average daily bicycle use from 2.1km (1.3 miles) to 9.2km (5.7 miles), a 340% increase. The e-bike share of all their transportation increased dramatically too; from 17% to 49%.

E-bikes support fewer car trips.
