Yes! This happened to me the other day and I was so, so, confused until I figured it out.

Depends. If the House tries to jam them, perhaps with a year-long CR or with a House-only omnibus, and Senate Republicans tried to push that through, I'd think they would filibuster.

Johnson was great at it, he also only used it selectively and certainly didn't control every Senator's vote. Or get his way always. It also wasn't really great for productive relationships in the long run, although the trade-off may have been worth it. There's a lot of mythology about it.

That's fair. Both Clone Wars and Rebels are better than the movies (although both of them are way inconsistent).

Eh. Making sense is overrated. Anyway I'm not sure 2 is better than 1 on that score.

That's bad too! Although with that at least the effects do seem to me to be in service to the plot.

I didn't say it was a *good* movie! But that's way easier to ignore for me at least than, well, Jar Jar.

Now, lovable scamp 3PO hi-lariously gets his parts mixed up so the big battle has extra "comic" relief? That was....not good.

Strong disagree!
Ep 2 has the cringey romance, which yes, but it also has Death Sticks guy which is a major plus.
Ep 1 has annoying kid plus Jar Jar (+ other weird ethnic stereotypes) plus in-love-with-the-effects badness unseen since Star Trek The Motion Picture plus midichlorians.

Any breakdown of how many of those in each case were in current Dem/GOP seats?
November 10, 2025 at 9:36 PM
I for one am perfectly happy any day of the week to spend a bit of my limited brain capacity thinking about how bad Ep. 1 is.
November 10, 2025 at 9:33 PM
Yes, that's true. (Although the effect is probably smaller now than it used to be).

Mmmmm....pasta.

Someone around here should be able to give you a good LA recommendation if you need one.
