@baldwin.senate.gov Don't cave. I work for the UW system. Students need affordable healthcare. My grants were cancelled because I guess trying to train physics teachers is DEI. Preventing facisism requires a backbone. Caving does nothing here. Keep fighting!

I hate this so much. I have students trying to get into PhD programs and it is bleak.
Fewer grad students means less science, but many STEM PhD programs in the US are cutting back on admissions this year due to federal funding uncertainties. Words by me for @nature.com:

Minnesota should lead the way to protect children. Ban assault weapons, ban high capacity magazines, fund schools. No parent should ever have to worry if the fleet of ambulances coming in has their shot child in it.

This is my daughter. Today was her last day of preschool in downtown Minneapolis. She heard all the ambulances bringing shot children to HCMC. School should be safe. Guns are for hunting deer not children. We need more research and actual actions on gun control and mental health resources.
