Is there a better way to introduce children to Hegel's master/slave dialectic than Amelia Bedelia, or is that still the consensus pick?

My mans (my Jens) really said "yes, ethics requires us to divest from Israel and companies that work with it, but that'd be REALLY inconvenient".

On the one hand, I see where they're coming from ("he's a white guy subscribed to the Baltimore Ravens newsletter; this is right up his alley"); on the other hand, this insult is too grave to be borne.

Perfect example of a product in search of an audience. Agentforce, Salesforce's "game-changing" agentic AI, struggles to make dinner reservations - a problem long solved not only by Resy, OpenDoor, etc, but by anyone with access to a telephone.

take Nassim Taleb with a tablespoon of salt, always, but when the man said that nature was constrained by realistic progressions and limitations while finance was theoretically infinite, *and that was a problem with finance*, the man was cooking.

Damn, if only Sliwa had dropped out, Cuomo would've lost by a pundit-friendly 1% instead of a hilarious 9%.

This is bullshit framing. The low turnout of most US elections means you can bring new or reluctant voters into the fold without marketing to right-wingers (excuse me, "independents"). And the youth vote numbers for anyone who even SOUNDS progressive (Sanders, AOC, Mamdani) bear this out.

Have you ever traveled off in an antique land
And encountered two legs of stone in the sand?
Let me tell you a story of lifeless things
Of the trunk of Ozymandias, King of Kings.

I work in the same part of town where I went to college. On the cool fall mornings the nostalgia hits hard. I have to defend against it like a grappler. It is full of tricks and feints, and I cannot trust it.

I remember from history class that governments used to have some method of extracting wealth from private holders to finance a standing army. The secret, sadly, is lost to time.
