There's been some panic about PubMed again, since a notice on the website warned it could be out of date because of the US government shutdown. Shutdown is dreadful, in so many ways. But that notice doesn't mean PubMed has been de-funded, or that it's not being maintained. The notice is the same as the one displayed during a shutdown in 2018.

Agree. It's decision making and judgement, not button pushing.
We, editors, don't "count votes", and yes, we may make decisions that differ from your recommendation. And that doesn't mean we "are wrong".

People who come to my workshops on ai search engines are often frustrated because they want me to tell them which is best. With librarians it manifests as to asking which we subscribe to. Not a bad idea if idea is you trust preferences revealed by actions. But here's the issue . . (1)

I wish there was a library of resources on research integrity methods and resources... Oh! Look.... 👍👏
Anyone can do post-publication peer review.
Anyone can be a steward of the scientific literature.
Anyone can do forensic metascience.
Anyone can sleuth.
That's why we are launching COSIG: the Collection of Open Science Integrity Guides, an open source resource for all of the above.
