The DOGE cuts seemed to focus on tax teams that pursued enforcement of high income earners. The IRS had been building up enforcement on this area because most of the tax gap is driven by higher earners. Lax enforcement could cost hundreds of billions. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/five-quest...

This is a classic example of how unequal financial power increases wealth inequality which in turn supports the political power. Wealth is not just a matter of some people being better at making money. They tilt the playing field in their favor.

I just checked his Wikipedia entry. I don’t see even a hint of where his net worth came from. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dale_St...

I see there are 40 no’s so if it passes it will be due to a small set of dems. I’ll concede those 40’know more than I do.

I see people are pissed. But what Dems are giving is only a CR until Jan 30. Airlines get to function. SNAP. Epstein discharge. Pressure on Republicans over ACA in January. I don’t claim to know the tactical situation. But short term of CR seems like important feature.

I see people hate this, but it doesn't seem like a total loss. They get something in the short run, SNAP and they maybe get the Epstein discharge, and the key point is the CR only goes thru Jan 30. ACA pain will be even more clear and fault will be even more clearly on the Repubs.
