The phrase “a true substitute for thought” is pretty telling for me. If you’re afraid of other people thinking, you build a machine to do it for them. It’s horrifying enough to lose our humanity, it’s truly depressing to just give it away to a bot.
I think I’m just not going to respond anymore to foolishness about how LLMs are a true substitute for thought. It’s an utter waste of time. People who commit to that idea will find out that it’s nonsense in time, and they aren’t going to listen until then.

We really do have to quit pretending that the current healthcare system is somehow capitalism in action. Name any other customer transaction where:
1. You have no idea what the actual cost is at purchase.
2. You get mystery bills for months after.
3. If you don't buy the thing you get sick and die.
