Always liked her voice.

I’ve bought a few of those live Pat Metheny albums. They’re all excellent. And compared to some unofficial CDs they have high production values. The booklets all have interviews and photos appropriate to the year of the gig, which makes a change for such releases. I must seek out that NY one.

I haven’t heard too many of Dave’s ECMs, but I do like this one. Very accessible.

Greatest Hits with Orchestra, more or less, and very enjoyable.

Having read this terrific/appalling book last year I can’t say I’m surprised.

My second and last gig tonight in the London Jazz Festival, and it seems appropriate in such a great week for the country that it’s a Scotsman.

This was fun. Beautiful voice, very engaging between songs. Started with Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, followed by material from her forthcoming album.

Tonight’s gig at the London Jazz Festival.

I hope it’s good because it’s freezing outside and my living room is nice and warm and I’m really having to force myself to go!

Any iPhone users out there, how do I PERMANENTLY get rid of this U2 album, which they stuck on every iPhone unasked for back in 2014.

Whatever I do, it soon reappears.

Thanks

You know that game where you pick the guests for your ideal dinner party? Well, this is definitely the exact oppposite. Yuk.

Finished reading this just yesterday. It’s about Tour de France cyclist Robert Millar’s transition to being Pippa York. It’s such a powerful story, and I must admit a proper eye-opener for me. Definitely recommend it.

I love a good celebration photo. This is one of my favourites, the great West Indies side of the ‘70s, the coolest cricket team ever.

The Observer’s front pages are awful.

Another DS with a dodgy doping past. But then, no-one in cycling really cares, do they?

I didn’t hold on to many tickets back then (a big regret) but I did keep Neil.

Morning, Andy. Bit grim here.

Saw this in an antique shop today. Love the design. Haven’t heard of the film or any of the people involved.

If you see this, post an album cover with a motor vehicle on it.

It’s rather confusing. That Legacy edition is two discs. My Legacy edition is one disc.

Anyway, I’m happy with mine.

Gritty. A Hard Day’s Night it is not.

Last listen for today.

An underrated album, I think. Rust Never Sleeps was fantastic, so a very tough act to follow, and this is nowhere near that, but there are still some very good songs on it.

Very short - not even half an hour.

A bit of a curiosity, this, from 1974. It’s full of good tunes. The cast is mainly from the Deep Purple family tree - Glover, Hughes, Coverdale, Dio et al - but the music is not in that vein.

I’ve always liked it.
