A few lesser-known (in the English-speaking world) Tatsuya Nakadai recommendations:
Willful Murder - Monochrome masterpiece from Kei Kumai starring Nakadai as a reporter exploring the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of Japan National Railways CEO Sadanori Shimoyama.

Willful Murder (日本の熱い日々 謀殺・下山事件, Kei Kumai, 1981)
A dogged reporter comes to the conclusion an industrialist was murdered but cannot say by whom in Kei Kumai’s searing exploration of the occupation and the economic miracle.

And I love Nakadai’s creepy, stoic killer in Zatoichi and the Festival of Fire, he stalks through the film like a murderous ghost.

RIP Tatsuya Nakadai. Man was a towering legend and he was in EVERYTHING, so just want to mention a couple of minor roles I love. He’s such an electric wild card in Kon Ichikawa’s Conflagration as the lead’s unreliable bohemian friend - the movie shifts gears every time he appears. /

We spent our morning at the ART OF MANGA exhibit!
Here’s a thread / photo dump!
Taking pictures of individual pieces was discouraged, but I snapped a few handfuls of details that struck me. There’s so much more than what I photographed, I highly recommend seeing it for yourself!
