I think one of the worst things to go through as a teacher is when violence takes student lives. I will never get used to the phone calls from admin on a Sunday night saying that we lost current students or recent grads.

Was it a real thing to throw tomatoes at a person when the crowd knew they were full of shit? Or was it just in cartoons? Because I can think of a few politicians that could use hands on experience making sauce if food wasn't so expensive.

The funding cuts for CPB/PBS/NPR has hit a local radio station in Akron, Ohio. I know I don't have a huge reach, but thesummit.fm needs help recovering a grant it had that did a lot of community outreach. This is THE only local radio station that will play artists from around the world in my area.

I know how much as a teacher in the STEM field. I know it has allowed me to buy a home for my family and provide a good life. I know that I am incredibly lucky.

Just found out a coworker passed away today unexpectedly. He was a good guy and just wanted our students to succeed. He was about my age. Not sure how to feel about it.
