It would be just awful if this list of Elon’s DOGE staff email addresses got passed around!

I’m not surprised that fascism was in invented in the most Catholic country in the world, and perfected in the most Protestant country in the world.

Must-read story on how a private equity group cornered the fire truck market, doubling prices, causing massive delays and leaving departments across the county — including Los Angeles — without the resources needed to combat fires.
Did a Private Equity Fire Truck Roll-Up Worsen the L.A. Fires?
During the LA fires, dozens of fire trucks sat in the boneyard, waiting for repairs the city couldn't afford. Why? A private equity roll-up made replacing and repairing those trucks much pricier.

Not speculating on likelihood, just saying that it would be very funny if Trump Admin 2.0 was sincerely & legitimately terrifying for little under a week then began to swiftly implode under its own contradictions, ineptitude, and net unpopularity
Labor union agreements thwart President Trump's return to work order, prompting the administration to issue new directive, saying: "Supervisors should not begin discussions around the return to in-person work with bargaining unit employees until HHS fulfills its collective bargaining obligations."

He will steal, sir, an egg out of a cloister. For rapes and ravishments he parallels Nessus. He professes not keeping of oaths; in breaking ’em he is stronger than Hercules. He will lie, sir, with such volubility, that you would think truth were a fool.

This is the one that makes me most livid as well. It has echoes of Galileo and the Inquisition. And it's 2025 ferfucksakes.

(Sorry for all the swearing today but I just can't find better words to describe my horror.)
Dr. Fauci from everything I have observed is among the most dedicated civil servants—a man who gave his whole life to the American public’s health. The fact he had to end his career as a hate object for millions of ungrateful jackasses gives me some real jagged feelings about our society.
Dr. Fauci was our guest at Wolftrap outside of DC last summer, and before the show I asked him why he thought had become MAGA’s primary villain in the COVID epidemic. After the fact, it was useful to find someone else to blame rather than Trump, but why him? What started it?

So how many Scaramuccis was that?

Anthony Scaramucci served as White House Press Secretary for just 11 days, thus making 11 days one "Scaramucci.” It has become a common way in the media to refer jokingly to the short term of a political appointee.
