Eclectic pantheist weirdo who works doing data analysis and mathematical modeling to support urban planning needs. I enjoy hiking (and adventures in general), watching sports (particularly rugby union), as well as other random hobbies. he/it
Merely attempting to manipulate another person into sex is an admission that one's genuine self is not deserving of it

When I was a kid my bullies would consistently find something I didn't like and use that to antagonize me. As an adult I now know that to be incredibly childish and immature. Anyways it seems like people like that are running the federal government nowadays.

Historians in my feed are all, "No you do not actually want to repeat the French Revolution because pretty soon EVERYBODY's heads were coming off" and this is why we need the humanities.

I get the sense "The Holly and the Ivy" was written by someone who was secretly pagan but someone walked in on them midway through singing. They're just singing about how nice the forest is in the winter, and then suddenly "...and Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ."

I do wonder if Trump nominating people like Gaetz and Hegseth to cabinet positions is a strategy similar to how South Park's writers will include jokes that they know the censors will cut so that the riskier jokes they want to keep in will be less likely to be noticed by the censors

My biggest pet peeve about public transit policy is when its only purpose is seen as commuting to work.

A good transit system is there to support all kinds of trips at all times of the day, not only office commutes. Groceries, football games, coffee shop trips, concerts, etc.

The amount of breaking news alerts I'm getting saying how close the election is making me wonder if after it's over I'll start getting breaking news alerts saying that the sun set last night but rose this morning.

The Washington Post refuses to publish an endorsement of Harris because the owner was afraid of the consequences if Trump wins. Is that the America we want to live in, where people are afraid to criticize the president? I thought we had a long tradition of that.

When I was in grad school one of my professors advised against writing while loops in code to not accidentally create an infinite loop. Today at work I wrote my first while loop in a long time. I was confident that it would always terminate. The first time the program reached it proved otherwise 😅
