Volatility is not good for the market or regular investor (those with retirement accounts).

The 3 largest volatile times since 2004 (the history of this tracking, VIX):

Trump's tariffs, COVID, 2008 Housing Crash.

Trump has 2 of these moments but COVID at least was not a self-inflicted problem.

To the right-wing pundits crowing over Vance's speech: if you are really "less worried" about a dictator-state that's invaded its neighbour, killed tens of thousands of people, reduced cities to rubble & engaged in mass rape and child abduction, than you are about "wokery", then you are truly lost.

Trump talks of ending FEMA and shifting responsibility to the states.

FEMA does help during emergencies and natural disasters. FEMA is not broken.

Attacks against FEMA are political to damage trust in the government and the base. And reactionary, someone to blame during a disaster.
Trump claims FEMA is getting ‘in the way’ and pitches abolishing it
Trump wants to shut down the Federal Emergency Management Agency and let states handle their own disaster needs. ‘I don’t think we should give California anything,’ he said

13 million egg-laying hens died in December due to the bird flu. Unless the President is going to mandate vaccines for chickens (insert COVID vaccine hysteria here), there is zero way he can control the impact on the cost of eggs and chicken.

Broken campaign promise incoming.
There are accurate articles on egg prices if one can dig deeper than memes. TV networks can learn from this.

"Bird flu has killed millions of hens in recent weeks, shrinking the supply of eggs and hiking up prices at grocery stores.

You can blame bird flu for high egg prices at the grocery store."
Egg prices are soaring again. Here’s why and what to expect

Democrats who want to be relevant and have a future with the party, look at AOC, Jamie Raskin, Jasmine Crockett, Senators Van Hollen and even Murphy right now.

They're the ones calling it out, refusing to bend the knee, and reflecting the righteous anger of America against the broligarchy.

Dem activists & politicians, let's not keep doing the same things over & over again.

We can all keep sharing the mountain of things Trump is doing that are terrible. But we ALSO need to make the case 4 dems/progressives.

We need to talk about what we stand for. How we support the working class...

This thread right here needs to be a wake up call to the Dem party and activists. By taking the bait with culture wars and moral victories, the message against the real fight gets buried.

It shouldn't be mainly left vs right culture fights. But corporations and billionaires vs the working class.
As the wealthy have gained more control over our politics we've been trained to accept moral and symbolic "victories" that make us feel good but ultimately change nothing.

If we're going to defeat authoritarianism we'll need to fight for actual change.
