The government is shut down because Trump and the Republicans are hellbent on taking health care away from you.

And they won’t even come to the table to talk to us about it.

This is not about politics. It's about people.

Let’s break it down:

“Deference” implies giving the president the benefit of the doubt. But where there is no doubt, there can be no benefit. Immergut refused to credit assertions with no basis in the record. She didn’t grandstand or sermonize; she simply applied the law to the facts.

A Federal Judge Shows How the Courts Should Deal with Trump’s Lies
District Court Judge Karin Immergut’s opinion shows that courage in judging doesn’t require rhetoric or defiance—only the quiet insistence that facts still matter.

Since SSA installed new anti-fraud checks on claims made over the phone, only two claims out of over 110,000 were found to likely be fraudulent, according to internal documents obtained by Nextgov/FCW...

It should be noted that Sesame Street will still air on PBS. The deal indicates that new episodes would air on both Netflix AND PBS on the SAME DAY. Instead of having to rely on donations and federal funding (which PBS has lost, anyway), Netflix has the big bucks, and will produce the show!
“Sesame Street” has found itself a new home.

Netflix announced that the decades-old public educational television program will premiere its 56th season on the global streaming giant, along with 90 hours of previous episodes.

And @booker.senate.gov has overwritten Thurmond’s record with 25 hours-plus of arguments for righteous causes. At one point he pleaded for checks and balances, science to compete with China, and research to help your relative with Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s. All in just 3 minutes, give or take.
Booker's team just told MSNBC they’ve gotten 14,000 voicemails from people supporting Cory’s filibuster and sharing their stories—and another 280 million people have liked his speech on TikTok alone.

A masterclass in capturing attention.

Well done.
