"Open in browser" by default for Capy Reader is near. I'm kicking the tires and then I'll push it to a dev release. Here's a sneak peek.

I just pushed a dev release for Capy that includes the ability to add a feed from the Android share sheet. A few less taps and a few less swipes than before!

I reworked horizontal pagination in Capy Reader with a focus on stability and render time for the reader view. The new swipe gesture was inspired by Flym (RIP). Now article content is displayed almost instantly.

Horizontal navigation has been an often requested feature for Capy Reader, and it's finally available in build v1100-dev. Swipe left to right to move between articles just like Inoreader or Flym.

I've been working on some network performance improvements in Capy around FreshRSS. Previously when you picked a category, the app would unnecessarily fetch data for all feeds. Refresh in the latest version takes about half as much data and half as many network requests. #freshrss #capyreader

Version 2025.01.1089 marks the first update of Capy Reader for the year! I've been focusing on small improvements lately, one example is for local feeds. If you enter just a subreddit or YouTube channel link, Capy will now find the matching RSS feed. #capyreader #rss
