The latest dev release introduces the "Sunset" theme based on Feedbin's own sepia tone theme. I'm hopeful that this helps personalize the reading experience while still putting the content up front. Let me know what you think!

I ported over Mihon's theming system to Capy Reader tonight. This should also improve the pure black/OLED/E-Ink experience.

It still needs some touch-ups, but you can try it out in the latest nightly build which installs a separate app alongside Capy Reader.

"Open in browser" by default for Capy Reader is near. I'm kicking the tires and then I'll push it to a dev release. Here's a sneak peek.

The next version of Capy Reader will reintroduce the "Mark All Read" button to the toolbar.

The floating action button will still be an option, but I want to free up space for more complex UIs, specifically audio playback which will occupy the same bottom bar area.

Miniflux has been supported in Capy Reader for a while now. But I want to add it to the "Add Account" list to make it that much easier to find. Let me know what you think!

The best new feature for Capy Reader is available without an app update! Miniflux upstreamed my change to support favicons via their Google Reader API. I'm grateful they took the time to review and merge these changes. Let me know how it works for you.

Capy Reader v2025.03.1119-dev includes better tag management, specifically deleting or renaming a tag. This is supported for all account types including Feedbin, FreshRSS, and Miniflux via the Google Reader API integration.

Better late than never. I added a keyword blocklist feature to Capy Reader for local accounts. This will allow you to block simple keywords like "Advertisement" or "Sponsored Post" which can help clean up clutter in your feeds.

I just pushed a dev release for Capy that includes the ability to add a feed from the Android share sheet. A few less taps and a few less swipes than before!

Capy Reader v2025.03.1112-dev introduces better parsing for YouTube for local accounts. This utilizes the presence of the "yt:videoId" and "media:description" Atom tags in YouTube feeds.

The next version of Capy Reader will include support for viewing Saved Searches for Feedin.

Do you use saved searches with a native client that allows you to add or update them? Let me know! I'm interested in adding those features in the future.

I reworked horizontal pagination in Capy Reader with a focus on stability and render time for the reader view. The new swipe gesture was inspired by Flym (RIP). Now article content is displayed almost instantly.

Horizontal navigation has been an often requested feature for Capy Reader, and it's finally available in build v1100-dev. Swipe left to right to move between articles just like Inoreader or Flym.

User labels are under development for Capy Reader and I'm looking for feedback. Do you use user labels and would you expect to edit or add them via a mobile app? Let me know!

I've been working on some network performance improvements in Capy around FreshRSS. Previously when you picked a category, the app would unnecessarily fetch data for all feeds. Refresh in the latest version takes about half as much data and half as many network requests. #freshrss #capyreader

Version 2025.01.1089 marks the first update of Capy Reader for the year! I've been focusing on small improvements lately, one example is for local feeds. If you enter just a subreddit or YouTube channel link, Capy will now find the matching RSS feed. #capyreader #rss

The latest build of Capy Reader brings improvements to notifications by grouping new articles. Android has a ton of options for setting text on notifications, and it's a lot easier to pull off by supporting devices newer than Nougat. #AndroidDev #rss #capyreader
