I needed the beautiful and soothing Glow at RHS Harlow Carr tonight. The images are stunning enough but the piped music created a wonderful auditory experience too. Aaaand relax …

We have a new branch of the hugometer @pubstr.at … a friendship bracelet was dropped off at the stand yesterday. That’s a first…!

Favourite leaves to walk through this lunchtime?

I think beech leaves (crispy, nice colour and shape), but oak leaves are a pleasant shape. Sycamore have best range of colours tho. Red maple are appealing but a bit spidery. So beech it is. Glad we’ve cleared that up. Important stuff

A bit of Friday fan-girling, listening to Ros Atkins and buying a second copy of his excellent book. Inspiring stuff!

Docklands looking particularly lovely earlier this evening. It’s the evening before a busy national trade show where I’m ’on the stand’ and I appreciated the calm

I’m having a weird run of earring drama …
Today: lost earring on the stairs at work while yanking off my lanyard

Last week: found someone’s earring on the stairs at work

Two weeks ago: stone fell out of my earring and down the plug hole while in a hotel for work

My ears are basically not safe 🙉

I needed an afternoon of fresh air, sunshine and distant horizons yesterday and Fountains Abbey did not disappoint

Walking through the train to get a cuppa and I couldn’t *not* see someone’s laptop screen where, in size 80 font, she was typing ‘We must chase Comms about this’

I scuttled through the carriage to avoid a hot (tea) pursuit…

We see you @sainsburys.bsky.social … going all ‘winter’ and ‘puds’ but showing the classic Christmas tree design and holly leaves on the wrappers. In August. But it did make me want a white chocolate Christmas tree …

My first time seeing La Bohème - such beautiful dialogue and music - ‘we love light-heartedly’. And extra special when performed by the Ukrainian National Opera, who ended the evening with their national anthem 💙💛

My regular reminder to change back into distance specs *before* trying to get off the train. Makes it easier to see the door and that gap …

A very confident pheasant strolled right past my favourite bench at RHS Harlow Carr. Maybe he was looking for a partridge in a pear tree?

I’m not usually in that London on a Saturday and rarely in Tower Hill, so especially glad that the sun came out to say hello

One for Greek mythology nerds - from Paphos, Cyprus. When a mosaic is so detailed that you can see their emotions: ‘Hippolytus looks embarrassed while reading his stepmother, Phaedra’s, love letter. She anxiously awaits the young man’s reaction.’
It didn’t end well …

Hoping that a pic of blue sky is appropriate for a first post. That and a fun jaunt over the river
