⚔️🪄 But as far as sword and sorcery remakes go #Deathstalker is still fractionally better than the new #RedSonja which manages to make the original film feel like an absolute masterpiece! 😐 Takes some sort of talent to make a hodgepodge of this magnitude and still not actually land anything. 📽️🎞️

⚔️🪄 Not that the original #Deathstalker was particularly good besides the fair share of T&A so I wasn't really expecting the remake to be any good. And while it's surprisingly bloody and gory and there's commendable amount of practical effects it's basically just as poor. 📽️🎞️

🌕🐺 Even though #WolfMan isn't a home run like The Invisible Man, in my books it's still an enjoyable enough horror film. And I totally appreciate its effort to try and bring something new to the genre even if those choices don't end up landing necessarily as well as the filmmakers probably hoped. 📽️🎞️

🌍💎 Sure #KingSolomonsMines' depiction of Africa is awfully outdated and pure pulp but all the requirements for an entertaining adventure film are still there. A dashing charismatic lead, a beautiful damsel in distress, an excellent pair of dastardly foes and an epic quest to boot! 📽️🎞️

🌍💎 Released #OnThisDay 40 years ago. Surprisingly decent epic adventure film from the producer duo Golan-Globus based on the H. Rider Haggard novel of the same name. Certainly one of the better Indiana Jones "rip-offs" out there. #KingSolomonsMines 📽️🎞️

Not that the human characters are given much room to shine since the true stars of the show are the monsters. But at least Dan Stevens understood how silly #GodzillaXKongTheNewEmpire is, and decided to head down the same path as Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park, plus crank it up few notches. 📽️🎞️

No idea what the makers of #GodzillaXKongTheNewEmpire were taking (💊, 🍄 or 🚬?)... 😮 But holy hell what a ludicrously silly ridiculous film it is! 😳 Albeit surprisingly somewhat entertaining given how much of the film is just CGI creatures battling each other. 📽️🎞️

Since Finnish isn't related to any of the other Nordic languages we don't speak English with an accent similar to Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or Icelandic accents. 🤨

And FYI, Finns weren't vikings either! 🇫🇮

I realize this is quite a minor gripe... But even though American TV shows and movies have got a lot better with getting their facts right about Finns and Finland, they still never get the accent right (unless they hire actual Finns, which they rarely actually do). 🇫🇮

🔫🚘 And even though #Cohen&Tate / #CohenAndTate is admittedly darker, more violent & action oriented I still think #TheHit would make a lovely companion piece to it if anyone's looking for double feature ideas. Even if it didn't really tickle my fancy much despite starring a trio of fine actors. 📽️🎞️
