A key mechanism of colonial fascism for complicity:

narratively transfer genocides to the past + performatively regret them (w/o any consequences like land back, but profiting), while ignoring their presence.

That’s all I can think about when I see Germany suddenly protesting their far-right now.

Those denying systemic violence will irrationally view resistance as violence.

Reversal of victim and offender.

What is happing with Twitter and BlueSky is a typical neoliberal mechanism:

While one major alternative is openly fascist, the other one, which doesn’t have any features to protect marginalized people, is being promoted by the mainstream as better—just for not being fascist towards the mainstream.

Musk charging the use of Twitter for all is the next step of his INTENTIONAL DESTRUCTION of that very platform marginalized people all over the world have used to organize against and educate about coups and mechanisms of oppression.

Decoloniality is destruction/reconstruction. It means refusing complicity (e.g., Boaventura supporters), while recognizing “that what [needs] to be repaired is irreparable. It can’t be repaired. The only thing we can do is tear this shit down completely and build something new.

Two aging dams failed in Libya—once Africa’s most prosperous nation—and whole neighborhoods in Derna were swept away. 12 years after the 2011 NATO mission to overthrow Gaddafi, Libya’s economy and infrastructure have been decimated by war and now the interplay of climate change and imperialism.

Today is a good day to remember that 10% of the the population (ie rich people and their companies) cause 71% of greenhouse gas emissions.

Overpopulation is a racist dogwhistle.

I was at Mills College on 9/11. I knew in an instant what is was going to mean for the Arabic world. Everyone else was just living their lives.

And indeed, neoliberal-neocolonial-fascist wars, genocides, and coups had been the state of normalcy for decades.

Hence, I’ll remember 9/11/73 today.
