tbh this had never crossed my mind before (maybe bc I'm a man), now I'm appalled this isn't a thing in more national parliaments.
Crazily enough, only 3 national Parliaments in the EU (Spain, Greece and Luxembourg) allow pregnant MPs to vote by proxy while on maternity leave.
Everywhere else, women having a baby virtually lose their mandate and are "just" not sanctioned for their absence. Talk about fair.
