I fear that the motivation for making a deal on the shutdown was that Mamdani won NYC.
DNC isn't interested in Progressives overtaking the party because it upsets the corrupt presence. Their handlers dont want that, so addressing the shutdown became priority.

Who'd have thought holding a hate spewing megalomaniac to a high regard this deep in the process would actually be because they are a hate spewing subservient?
We've gotten so many of these pieces where a liberal engages in a good-faith effort to understand Trump voters. Every time, they discover that there's no deeper sympathetic reason they hold their views. They're just misinformed and hateful. My own efforts have found this too.

This last weekend has taught me the standard LGS cannot navigate Commander brackets sensibly if the players will not adhere to the intent of brackets in good faith.

It's precious playing with players who haven't experienced the wild design decisions of old WotC. Watching people process what OG Jitte does in real time is a treat.
