😳 Isaiah Taylor of Valar Atomics—which somehow scored a DOE contract to build a nuclear reactor by July 4—claimed that “a person cld hold the spent nuclear fuel from [Valar’s] reactor in their hand & get the same amount of radiation as one would expect from a hospital CT scan.”

About that… 1/

Samuel Alito flew two flags used by insurrectionists.

Clarence Thomas' wife plotted to overturn the 2020 election.

Both justices refused to recuse themselves from SCOTUS cases related to the January 6th plot.

It's a stain on our nation that this has effectively been forgotten.

A story about tradition, sustainability and why it is worth paying for, and how immigrants are part of the country's story.
The rare wild commercial Christmas tree harvest endures on the edge of climate change, wildfire, and shifting immigration policy, revealing how even our most cherished traditions depend on fragile landscapes and unseen labor.

I was an early adopter of LED bulbs. I am mostly OK with them but what I wouldn't give for an incandescent 3-way bulb for my favorite reading lamp. 3-way LED doesn't get to brightest setting and randomly goes off.

And just like that I found the perfect donation to make in honor of my sister and her husband who live in Colorado. May we get back to an America that is honest about its past and learns from mistakes so we can truly be a "more perfect Union".

🚨 It’s not too late to take ACTION. Last week, the house passed H.R. 845, a bill that would strip protections for gray wolves and block the public from challenging it in court. It now heads to the Senate. Call your Senators and urge them to vote NO: www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm

One more day to submit comments on the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. Oregon Zoo has done an excellent write-up on the proposals and has links to make comments on each of the 4 proposals. Defend the Endangered Species Act.

I love the library. That said, reading books with maps printed inside the cover is a pain when taped on cover obscures parts of the maps. Important parts of the City of Tova and the Meridian obscured in @rebeccaroanhorse.bsky.social Mirrored Heavens. Found them online. Love authors who make maps.

@gluesenkampperez.house.gov Added you to the list of people I won't ever vote for at the state level here in Washington. Your vote for H. R. 845 is a slap to all the people in this state who are working to protect wolves in the wild and find ways to co-exist.

Some of my best vacations have been to places in Utah. I just put all my Utah maps into a pile of stuff to get rid of. As long as Mike Lee is the Senator I won't spend any tourist dollars in Utah. Need to find a place besides Capital Reef for a night sky trip.
