If a Psych prof assigns students an essay response paper with explicit guidelines and then flunks a student for turning in a paper that ignores those guidelines but instead makes vague gestures to "the Bible" then THAT IS NOT A VIOLATION OF THE STUDENT'S RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

I taught composition and technical writing at OU for three years. This decision is a disgrace. If instructors are expected to treat personal beliefs as formal “evidence,” then why even bother offering courses?

Oklahoma University should have their accreditation revoked for caving to religious zealots instead of supporting their highly qualified, well educated professors. If you want to see the future of US education under right wing rule just look at OU. That student 100% deserved a failing grade.

Continuing to elevate this concern until @propublica.org + @josh-kaplan.bsky.social give us clarity: a woman indie journalist sent them her story on Kristi Noem in 3/25, she'd been covering it for months. She texted w/ Kaplan. The bombshell story was published and she received no credit nor pay.

Many churches do a lot of good and many are just businesses that serve to generate $ to enrich their "religious" leaders - they're scams. Scammy churches should be TAXED BIG. All churches should be REQUIRED to give a huge % of $ to the local community to be tax exempt and they must show the receipts

What’s the difference between compromise and capitulation? Compromise trades concessions. Capitulation pays ransom to stop deliberate suffering, and teaches your opponent that coercion works. There are effective responses to coercive bargaining. What we saw was not one of them.
