Evan Dando wearing his 9:30 swag in the November issue of MOJO. Always fun to spot one in the wild. @930club.bsky.social

What my friends and I were yelling at the screen 45 years ago at the Key Theater in Washington DC appears today almost verbatim as a caption track on the new Rocky Horror Picture Show 4k disk. So wild! #RHPS

I spent the last few furlough days entering my trading card collection into the Trading Card Database (TCDb) website. Let's see which person appears on the most cards in my collection…

Spending Furlough Day #8 at James Madison’s Montpelier trying yet again to renew my faith in our system of government. No better place than the home of the architect of our Constitution.

Spending Furlough Day #4 renewing my faith in our nation at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. A perfect reminder that our ancestors still had it much worse.

I just finished both sides of the excellent new book The Story of Spinal Tap. While the band interviews were sharp and witty, I most enjoyed hearing how @harryshearer.bsky.social, @mjmckean.bsky.social and Chris Guest wound their way thru comedy into this gloriously unaware band. Comedy gods, all.

There’s something quite gratifying when a squirrel or any wild animal stops for a drink from the clean, clear water I place for them on my patio. #animals #yard

Wk 2 of my covid lockdown begins, so to celebrate here’s a photo of me in ‘79 lying dead at the bottom of the Exorcist stairs in Georgetown. This is roughly how I feel today…

Long time AMC Stubs Premier member here. This is not an issue for me as the AMC app posts the estimated length of the pre-show stuff. Run as many commercials as you like but they usually run in mostly empty auditoriums.

Uh oh… a good reminder that attending large gatherings in hotel ballrooms are still risky. #covid

From 2013, my son looking thru the Great Equatorial refracting telescope at the U.S. Naval Observatory in DC, the same scope that in 1877 discovered Phobos and Deimos, the moons of Mars. Today, he spends his time looking thru microscopes. #astronomy #telescope

Stopped by the childhood home of Edward Hopper to help celebrate his birthday weekend. So easy to see where his emphasis on light and windows began.

My final visit to Falmouth/Woods Hole winds down. I first visited in ‘96, was married there in ‘98, and spent a few weeks there every year. But the kids are grown, the waterfront home sold, and I leave tomorrow for what’s likely the last time. #capecod

Totally mesmerized by the fountain outside the NGA earlier today.

Totally digging that earlier today I defaced this Barnett Newman piece with my shadow. Color field, my ass!

Spending the day at the Nat’l Gallery of Art in DC. My shadow is the only detail in this Barnett Newman. Clearly he anticipated this. #art
