As a school librarian, this is the BEST kind of letter!!! Bc you know that kid fought reading that book, and those are the kids we are trying to reach! Well done!! Now I have to read this book too!

School librarian here…my 15 year old’s freshman ELA class read Animal Farm this year. She saw this quote on a list somewhere and had to do it!! Great turnout in Galesburg, IL!!

2/2 The parallels of books 4/5/6 made me gasp out loud at times. Hidden children, govt overreach/corruption, propaganda machine. Read it together, discuss it. This is why books are so important. Every kid has been enamored w/ this series. My son has read 1st 5 in 1 month. HIGHLY rec the audiobooks!

I teach my 4th graders about the Navajo Code Talkers every year in library during Indigenous Peoples Months. Are these the types of lessons people can now report me for on the new DOE teacher reporting portal? This is all so crazy.

My 4th-6th graders are writing for their Young Authors contest right now. I’ll be sharing this inspirational speech with them tomorrow. 🤣🤣 (specifically spite as motivator) but really- thanks. From someone who shelved a book last year after 20 rejections on my first MS bc I got sad 😂

My library kids have been obsessed and check in with me on the school library big screen every time they pass!! What a joy during this awful time.
