CHILDREN OF MEN is going to place “surprisingly” high on the NYT Best Movies of the Century list (like #7) and it’s going to formally occasion the Strange New Respect that we all know is coming so I just want to say I have been riding for that movie since I was a sophomore in high school

RCV is most often discussed in terms of what happens after votes are cast, and it's true that the leader in the first round usually wins. But how it shapes campaign strategies before votes are cast may be it's actual importance
Although Zohran would with a plurality without RCV, I think the candidate collaboration that RCV encouraged helped him do so well. It both underscored his positive message and elevated many voices talking about why NOT to vote for Cuomo.

More choices, no spoilers, no run-offs, and the best chance of electing a broadly acceptable candidate... ranked choice (or even approval) voting should be a no-brainer
If you've read that Atlantic story by Annie Lowrey about why ranked choice voting sucks, I'm telling you she's wrong. And I know this because I did something in 2017 Annie did not for this story - I talked to a mathemtician.
Of all the ways to vote, the U.S. presidential election is the worst
There are many mathematically sound ways to vote, but the way the United States votes is the worst.
