Hadestown is rough because I always kinda hope it might be different this time like they sing at the beginning and then it never is DAMMIT

It had a lot of plot holes but I legitimately didn't (and don't) care because it was just super fun. Like, yes, there's some very odd narrative decisions in there and some contrived nonsense but Hartnett just seems like he's having a blast and the whole thing is a fun idea so idgaf.

Saw the trailer and got big time "Clock Tower" vibes. It looks phenomenal!

It’s good! Goofy, strange, violent, tragic, funny, tons of heart, and very sincere. Well worth a watch.

Yo! I saw VHD and RC back-to-back (I wanna say Akira too). I think it was when Cartoon Network was first launching or something.

I saw Heavy Metal on late night MTV, I think. I was like, 12. Shit was wild.

I met some cranky guy from Chicago on there. He seems cool.

People are already (and have been) doing this for years on sites like Royal Road. While the quality can vary wildly (from absolute nonsense/AI slop to fun, original works that are well-written), I'd say that's to be expected for the modern incarnation of the old pulp magazines.

RPO doesn't have stats so it doesn't count. It'd be "Gamelit" rather than LitRPG. Dungeon Crawler Carl is getting an animated series, however.

I write a modestly popular series if you’re curious.

Solo-Leveling is probably the most famous current example. The biggest Western example I can think of is Dungeon Crawler Carl.

Not typically, no. A LitRPG is a novel, but it's power/magic system is based around in-universe stat blocks. Characters get level-ups, get new skills, have measurable numerical values for strength, agility, etc. Sometimes it takes place in a game/VR (e.g. the Matrix) or in the real world.

No main characters I know of. My series has a trans man show up as an important side-character starting in the second book (though he doesn't specifically state he's trans until book 4).
