20 years ago, I stepped onto those yellow footprints. Right now, I’d be in Phase 1 of boot camp, getting torn down to be built into something else.

Sometimes I think about who I might’ve been if I hadn’t joined. Would I be less angry? Less broken?

Foxtrot Delta Tango. I’m speaking as a US Marine to the soldiers in that god-awful parade: I see what you did there. Respect. 🫡 🎖️🏅

Protesting is disruptive because it *must* be. That’s why it’s protected.

It’s one of our only tools to be heard beyond voting. When leaders stop listening, injustice is ignored, & the system protects power over people, protest becomes our voice.

It's easy to fall into despair. That anxiety you feel when everything around you feels out of control. The overwhelming sense of dread.
I'm here to remind you why you should have hope.

State Violence is Tradition. So is Resistance.
It’s easy and entirely human to look at what’s happening right now in California and think, “this is unprecedented.”

Westerners - please stop trying to colonize people’s diets. Just bc the keto or FODMAP diet works for you doesn’t mean it’s suitable for everyone on earth. Each body has different biomechanics. If you grew up Western-coded, then knock yourself out. But please don’t try to push it on others.

Andry José Hernández Romero, I remember you, even if I do not know how to articulate my horror, rage, & sorrow at your treatment by my government.

No one has heard from you in 43 days.

As vigil, I’m posting a photo of you every day until you are returned from El Salvador.

Too many people confuse access to information with understanding it.

Listening to #JoeRogan & using #ChatGPT doesn’t make you a policy expert, just like binging “Suits” doesn’t qualify you for the bar.

Since the president has signed an EO making English the official language of the United States, here is the first non-English copy of the Declaration of Independence, printed in German just days after July 4, 1776. We have always been multilingual.
