One of AEW's challenges has been keeping viewers of the lead-in show.
Women kicking-off the show could be more of a curiosity for non-fans and definitely appointment viewing for hardcores.
In this case, opening is the plumb spot.

Every move and moment meant something. Psychologically it was well beyond most hardcore and cage matches. Just a brilliant performance. Skye Blue and Kris Statlander stood out, but what a performance by everyone. The new ceiling for men or women.
