A politician of sufficient political influence could win the 2028 election right now if they got out on the streets and stood up to ice with the people of Minnesota (i.e. Tim Walz? Mayor Pete? Harris? Someone out of left field?). I don't know, I don't watch the news or know who's relevant.

NUREMBERG. NUREMBERG. NUREMBERG.

There needs to be accountability and consequences for every single one of these people.

My pitch for the hypothetical reality show trials that need to happen after this admin is gone, "Nuremberg 2: oops all sentate"

Which will be a spin off of "Nuremberg 2: electric boogaloo".

I can't with the powerful, sniveling, wretched humans today.

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Congratulations and a job well done to all the people hurt by the Bush 2 admin that managed to look down at the grass long enough to see Dick Cheney looking up at it.

Can the media at large STOP pretending that the Republicans (MAGA authoritarians) didn't shut the government down on purpose to blast through portions of their agenda?

It is absolutely pathetic how badly the people in this administration want to be popular/funny/liked. It would be more pathetic if they all weren't ABSOLUTE AUTHORITARIAN GHOULS WHO HOLD ALL THE CARDS.

It is an insult to Charlie Kirk's legacy as a free speech absolutist not to say "Rest in Piss Charles Kirk" or something similarly negative about the recently deceased Charles James Kirk.

I would never say such a thing because I don't respect his legacy.

Check out this video of a very serious person engaging in "Debate".

What's the angry version of a lol-cow? I know I could Google it, but that's how how I feel about this video and all of PragerU specifically. It's not a complete list, but I'm sure you get the point.

Yet more deaths directly caused by health grifters. I don't think people should blame this lady and I hope she learns from this experience mostly.
A woman who was 20 weeks pregnant fed her toddler son raw milk. He contracted Campylobacter and then passed the infection to her; she progressed to sepsis, and had a miscarriage.

She is suing the business that sells the raw milk, saying she didn’t know the risk.

Don’t feed your kids raw milk.

Be radically kind! Please, I'm begging everyone; ask yourself 'what would a kind person (such as Mr. Rogers) do in this situation?' and then do that.

Some of the best advice I ever got was to "use power that you have as a shield, not a sword". That has stuck with me for a long time. Not to sound like an *evangelist* but I think more people should try it.

How many government officials/employees in DC do we think are going on work trips this week/weekend (tax payer funded, to be clear) to avoid the military parade?

I'm guessing more than 1.

An underappreciated thing about homeownership is the ability to do yardwork. It's the type of physical labor conservatives cream their pants over...but capitalism is gatekeeping it. Getting out and accomplishing tasks while moving your body is great.

It's objectively funny watching these "the left is anti-free speech" (Chatterton, Dawkins/Pinker) books coming out that obviously wanted to capitalize on a Harris win. Meanwhile, It took <100 days for them to look like a bunch of jackasses because this admin is Ctrl+f-ing for shit they don't like.

I know we all joke a lot, but this shit is actually scary. Like, when we stop and take an objective look at what is happening in the US (and how the people in power are talking), the situation feels daunting. But I think we've got this...I have to believe we do.

Instead of making up statistics, we should be asking the real questions: why has she been encouraging kids to buy fertilizer and magnesium strips? Why is Jules' most recent song is about the strategic value of the Golan Heights?

Clown shit. I STG it's on sight with these people.

Two things I feel must be acknowledge about this video

1. I know this is absolute, pure, uncut copium; but, gosh darn does it feel good.

2. It is absolutely savage that @commentetiquette.bsky.social possibly put $15,000 down on this guy not being just allegedly a p*do

How are more news outlets not putting this together?!?! Who is awake at this wheel?!?!

I think that we're witnessing the quote "Fascisms seek out in each national culture those themes that are best capable of mobilizing a mass movement..." from Paxton atm. In America today, a leather vest (you know the kind I mean) is equivalent to what a brown shirt was in the 30-40's in Germany. 1

Is *literally* anyone who can do anything about this going to do something (anything) to combat this...like even one single solitary member of Congress? A lot of these workers are paid by appropriations from CONGRESS. Reps, senators: do your jobs so federal workers can continue to do theirs.

my take is that your willingness to accept this gulf of america nonsense is an indicator of your willingness to accept much worse things coming from this administrator
Trump’s decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico may be upsetting to some, writes @giladedelman.bsky.social, but “in a democracy, values are determined by majority rule, and they don’t shift in only one direction. They can shift back”:
‘The Gulf of America’ Is the Wrong Fight to Pick
The more that politicians mess around with place names, the more important it is to respond according to consistent principles.
