Feels like I'm losing the battle on this one, I keep seeing people use "vibe coding" to mean any time an LLM is used to write code

I'm particularly frustrated because for a few glorious moments we had the chance at having ONE piece of AI-related terminology with a clear, widely accepted definition!

A warning what happens when a tech company prioritizes OKRs (eg "ship the new app in Q2 2024") and hitting artificial goals is what everyone optimizes for. And stops:

- Listening to customers
- Doing proper QA testing
- Holding a new release until it is ready for prod

This is a really useful post to garner a realistic perspective about where coding agents are right now. They can do more than you expect an autonomous actor to do, but still fail often, and can't be left completely to their own devices yet.

You learn something everyday.

For months, I had trouble logging into Amazon apps (not Amazon itself, but Alexa, Audible, eero, Goodreads, Kindle, Prime Video, and Ring). Every time I tried to log in using my email address, it would prompt me to reset my password without even asking for existing one

GitHub actions code injection attack via malicious crafted branch name. Interesting! The Pull Request wasn't even merged but must have done something when GitHub Actions ran on the request. Be careful with your automated testing systems running on untrusted user code!

1) AIs are trained as black boxes, making it hard to understand or control their behavior. This is bad for safety! But what is an alternative? Our idea: train structure into a neural network by configuring which components update on different tasks. We call it "gradient routing."

Petition: Referendum on changing the Electoral System To Proportional Representation (PR)

Proportional representation is not perfect, but it would bring a broader and by necessity more consensual, people-focused form of government to the UK.
