I have experienced a curious mix of feelings while having a significant portion of my life’s work in books and the art of my friends distorted and vandalized by post-literate fascists for the last few years. The feelings right now are uniquely awful.

A memory that happened during my 1st marriage sticks in my mind. We weee with my then in-laws, and the BiL and SiL had many times proudly told us they didn’t censor what their kids watched on tv. One day when we were over, the unedited Revenge of the Nerds movie came on, and I was uncomfortable 1/

All this migration from the meta apps and the propaganda closing of TikTok just makes me miss Livejournal more. We no longer live in a world that can support that model of social media, but wow it was great in its prime. I still have the friends I made there.

Every day in December, we watch a holiday movie. We try to start with a new one, which led us to Netflix’s “Our Little Secret,” a romcom starring Lindsay Lohan, set in my home state of Georgia. Silly tropes aside, my big gripe is the writers should have consulted an actual native of the state.1/
