What are the consequences of this for teaching & learning & working & living on a college campus? I haven't a clue. I find myself increasingly concerned that it will a) normalize a heavy police/security/surveillance apparatus on campus and b) cause people to ignore/dismiss campus wide alerts.

And we had a second series of active shooter alerts on Sunday (yesterday).

I'm critical of that characterization. No one was shot. No one was killed. No one was seriously physically injured (there were physical injuries from stampedes). But everyone who lives, works, & attends classes at Nova were harmed. The loved ones of those who live/work/attend classes were harmed.
