It is sad. Starmer never seemed to be onside, look at comments from the past eg in The Times, Starmer criticised “NIMBYs & environmentalists” who he said have “stymied economic progress” in UK, saying complex environmental regulations “add millions to cost of development & cause lengthy delays”.

True. There should be a rule that for every lobby meeting held, the opposition should also be invited to a meeting..
