In Cuba I got major crap from New Jersey birders about my orange shoes , but everyone in Costa Rica loved them- especially the hummers. We ended up with 406 birds on our CR life list. Leaving Guanacaste today. #birding Green Hermit pictured

We fly home tomorrow, so sad. Our last new Costa Rica bird was a Hudsonian Whimbrel, which is my first since they were split from their Eurasian cousins. Panama Beach, Guanacaste, Costa Rica #birding

Yes several fiery-throated. Lesser violet ears, Talamanca, volcano, Scintillant, White-throated mountain gem. Crazy hummer action.

We only had one Chlorophinia but it was spectacular. We had quetzals and amazing hummers.

I resolved to post a #BirdOfTheDay pic taken *today* before I saw the topic. There are no ducks or moorhens up here on Arenal Volcano, Alahuela, Costa Rica. So I did my best with this Great Curassow. Cheers!
