I grew up in a family in Central Texas that lived paycheck to paycheck. We could barely afford rent and food for most of my childhood. We certainly couldn't afford to move.

charlottesville spent most of a decade revising its zoning code. it held endless community meetings and gave opponents ample opportunity to make their case. they lost. but a handful of rich homeowners sued and have gotten the new code overturned on a technicality.

It’s quite worrying that, whatever budget republicans pass, it will almost certainly include a massive cash infusion for DHS enforcement. Things are bad enough now and will get much worse with the additional staff, resources, legislative approval.

My daughter’s speech therapist went out of business because Medicaid reimbursement rates were too low. We do not have Medicaid. I’m going to keep posting this until people understand that when Medicaid gets cut *everyone* loses services.
